Current mood: sick
Current music:Xeno & Oaklander - Beginning

I've listened to Xeno and Oaklander a lot in my time of need.
Points for the day.

1. I am soooo god damn sick. I have an upper respitory infection and is gone into my chest due to asthma. Unfortunately I had to take today off of work, as well as tomorrow too as requested by my allergist. I feel absolutely terrible. But a lot better now that I am drugged up and coughing everything up. MMM, KISS MEH.

2. Steampunk is so fucking retarded. I mean, lol, wtf?

I was going to tell you to feel better, but I like the idea of steampunk.

The idea of it back then is neat, but people who cosplay it I think are silly looking. haha.

Most people who cosplay anything are silly looking though. Take for example furries.

*shudder*

Agreed, the idea is sound, however most steampunk's screw up steampunk. This image speaks volumes http://www.megachan.net/boards/ste/src/121606536454.jpg

Still the victorian/edwardian style of dress is nice, even if they are holding some sort of "steam gun" made out of a recorder and other crap they glued to it.

Haha, right on. Now Mr Scary, I got a proposition, or rather a question to ask. I see that you and Joey are hosting a deathrock/goth night now in Detroit. I am very interested to be part of this as, you know me, I've been waiting for this for a while and wanting to start one of my own. :) I have been out of loop of trying to look into the Detroit goth scene and been focused on mostly post-punk/minimal-wave lately that I haven't had the time to seek interest.

However, if you guys would be interested in having me do guest shots occasionally, I'd be very interested. Just point me in the right direction. I don't know if the Works has house equipment, but my last duel disk player is kaput, so that may be a problem.

Lemme know, and GOOD LUCK, this is going to be very exciting. I will be at the first schtick.

Well I don't know if you saw bout there are 6 DJ's on the bill and we're only spinning right now from 10-2 which means 90 minutes a piece.

First post punk = goth (well to most people it's close enough) so that could be a nice switch up too. They also want some psychobilly and symphonic metal (should be interesting trying to transition between all the genres). We'll see how this works out and if we find a "happy mix" or just end up cutting out genres completely depending on crowd response. So if you like a particular genre make sure you bring people into it as we're playing for the crowd.

I'm sure we could get you in as an alternate or maybe a guest spinning back to back with one of us. Also I'm sure Joey will introduce you to the man in charge.

As far as house equipment goes, they have CD decks and I told them to make sure to have a turntable out so I can do Vinyl as well. I'm mostly excited because they have a projector so I'll be doing some music videos, which I wish more people would do.

That and I don't know if you've heard or read on my LJ but they have the potential to go to 5 AM and they have a good sized dance floor (technically two) which means they can give City a run for their money. That excites me too.

In any case I look forward to seeing you at the opening night. Spread the good word (and make lots of requests).

I demand UK Decay and The Horatii.

I would like to mix up some dark anarcho punk (Rudimentary Peni, Thatcher on Acid, Zounds, Flowers in the Dustbin, etc) along with art-damaged and funky post-punk, such as A Certain Ratio, Crispy Ambulance, Turn Pale, The Vanishing. Also I'd like to spin a lot of newer goth acts. Most goth clubs nowadays only play old stuff for some reason. Its as if goth is dead. (I'll just say its really boring nowadays) But we got stuff like

Cinema Strange, The Now Dead, Spectres, Turn pale, New Thrill Parade, SWFT WNGS, Black Ice, Loto Ball Show, ya knowwww.

But i'd be glad to be a guest on occasion or a alt. I can't say I can do any metal, not my thing, but psychobilly I can mix. I know thats Joey's specialty. So leave that to him. I can mostly mix in French coldwave, minimal-wave, art-punk, No-wave, Dance-punk, death disco (gothy funk!), and other pretentious genres.

Word up.
